Memorable Experience – Famous people day

This project teaches children about historically significant people who have had a major impact on the world. They will learn to use timelines, stories and historical sources to find out about the people featured and use historical models to explore their significance

On the first day back of school, (24/02/25) we are going to begin our topic with a famous people catwalk. We will be learning about significant people under the headings

Scientist

Explorer

Activist

Monarch

Artist

Please could your child come dressed as one of these.

I am also sending home a tag. Please could they come to school with 3 facts about a famous person linked to their outfit for example: Scientist – Charles Darwin.

I will also enclose some key vocabulary for you to have a look at with your child. If you wish you can get them to cut up the word cards and pictures and play a matching game … an activity which I am sure would keep them busy for a while during the holidays!

(Could they also bring in a pair of wellies in case we go outside and it is muddy!)
