Class 3 and Class 4 - Pedestrian Training

Dear Parent and Carers,

RE: PEDESTRIAN TAINING - A scheme by Telford & Wrekin Council

We have arranged for Class 4 and Class 3 to take part in a Pedestrian Training scheme on Monday 16th and Tuesday 17th March 2026. The scheme is delivered by Telford & Wrekin Council’s Active Travel & Road Safety Education team.

Children that participate in this training will learn essential road safety skills that will help them become safer pedestrians; including pavement behaviour, the Green Cross Code and safer places to cross.

Training is delivered by an experienced instructor who has been Enhanced DBS checked. The activities are risk assessed and children will be fully supervised at all times.

Following classroom based learning the class will be split into smaller groups and each group will receive a practical training session on the pavements around your school. A member of school staff will also accompany the training.

The training that we provide does not mean that your child is safe to cross the road unaccompanied.
It aims to give children an awareness of the things that they need to consider as pedestrians and gives them basic skills that they can practice and improve on with your help.

For your child to take part in this activity you must complete the consents on ParentPay. Without this consent, your child will be UNABLE to take part in the training.

Yours sincerely,
Miss L Evans
