St Luke's Mural
Dear parents, carers and pupils.
I am excited to share that we have been chosen by the local council to receive a grant to fund a mural on the school grounds.
The mural will be painted on the external wall of the school between Class 3 and the main entrance of the playground. We are especially excited that the mural will be painted by a local artist in a style of our choice.
We would like the school to reflect St Luke’s and what it means to us all. We are asking pupils to design an image that could be included in the mural reflecting what the school means to them. During assembly when I was able to explain to the children about the mural one of class 4 shared that St Luke’s means friendship to her. The idea of friendship could be shown by an image of children playing together. Another pupil said fun on the pirate ship, this could be represented by a drawing of our own ship. We are excited to see what St Luke’s means to the children.
We would like all pupils to return their drawings by Monday 7th April to their class teacher. Mrs Green and I will then meet with the artist and he will use the children’s ideas and designs to create a mural of What St Luke’s Means to Us. We hope that the mural will be painted during the summer term, and we will all be able to watch as our brick wall turns into a spectacular piece of art.
I look forward to seeing all the wonderful ideas that the children have.
Kind regards,
Miss L Evans
Headteacher
